Ada-Errett R. Motter, 75, died at 7:35 a.m. Monday in Lima Memorial Hospital after a three-week illness.
Born November 17, 1900, in Hancock County, he was a son of Andrew and Osa Hamilton Motter. He married Hazel I. Kimble, who preceded him in death. In 1963 he married Mary Cotner, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Joseph A. of Mansfield; a daughter, Patricia A. Fox of Westlake; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald of Lima.
A retired Ohio Power Co. manager, he was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Lodge 344, Free and Accepted Masons, Royal Arch Mason 138 and Kenton Council 65.
He had been active in Boy Scouts for more than 50 years and was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. He was named Ada’s Distinguished Citizen in 1970.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hanson Funeral Home where Masonic services will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ada Boy Scouts or other organization of the donor’s choice.
